Pike are present, use a variety of baits and jigs during the ice fishing season. It is typically easier to attract them through the winter months in this lake. Trout are also present, use smaller jigs and a variety of baits and spoons.

This lake has been consistent through the season. Use jigs, and a variety of baits over vegetated shelves, or along the bottom. Jamming Jigs, tube jigs, and Swedish pimples have provided steady results over the years. Grayling, Rainbow trout, char, and salmon have all been caught in number during the winter months.

As winter approaches, fishing along this area becomes less active, especially as road conditions worsen. Whitefish can be found along the western drainages.

Fishing in Chena Lake could be very productive with a small jigs, and/or bait. Fish tend to congregate along vegetated edges and lake coves towards the portage where water is warmer. There are ice houses for rent, and stocked fish are consistent.

During the winter season, many species make there way into the Tanana, fishing becomes relatively slow throughout, aside from Burbot. Use set lines along eddies and slower portions of the river for best results.
