Try using Jerk baits ,small cranks, war eagle spinner baits, and flipping/pitching shallow trees. Also drop shot and texas rigs should be good around deep rocky points. Crappie fishing has been slow try trolling jigs tipped with minnows or small tubes/grubs in 10-25 feet of water has been producing all winter and should continue to produce this spring. Crappie hang near big and tall trees out in the middle of the lake. Use your graph.

For Largemouth bass, shift to a roboworm rigged on a dropshot or a ned rig. Small crankbaits and spinner baits along with top water in the early mornings have been decent. When focusing on largemouth bass, fish near shady areas with overhangs or drop-offs for crappie try fishing around submerged trees or on shelves. Try using live minnows or jigs tipped with minnows for crappie near the yellow cliffs and the main creek channel in the river. Flathead catfish are present throughout the lake but are more common upriver or by the dam. Look for spots where the water is murkier with vegetation or rocky covering nearby. Try using catfish baits like chicken liver, small bluegills and small carp along with stink bait and dead shad.

Stiper fishing is god find them boiling and trow any reaction bait you want and you will catch fish. Smallmouth fishing has been good try using a single tail 4-5" Gary Yamamoto grub in chartreuse or dark purple on a small 3/16 oz to 1/4oz jig head. Also tubes have been excelling well this time of year. Along with the dropshot with kvd dream shot locals say the only thing you can catch them on right now. Mead continues to drop so find deep underwater structure where bass might try to hide and ambush prey. No New Report

Striper are being caught in small numbers. Anchovies work well along with small spoons. Also Flutter spoons have been catching them in ok numbers in 25-50 feet of water.Early morning use walking topwater baits of rio rico poppers. The river is closed! Large mouth bass numbers have been tough. Bass tend to be deeper in the winter months try fishing 25-70 feet of water. Try using white or clear spinners and swim baits early morning along with deep running crankbaits. The natural worm colors are working well for anglers especially when the water is clear. The ned rig and Alabama rig have been producing good numbers. Flathead catfish are present throughout the lake but are more common in the Aqua Fria River arm or by the dam.

Texas rigged creature baits/big worms and jigs have been producing the best size on main lake points in 20-25 ft of water. Also early morning topwater and crankbaits on riprap rocks. Crappie fisherman are have best luck using a vertical jigging technique with grubs tipped with a minnow in 20-50 ft of water near trees, rock piles, and ledges. Bigger crappie are being caught in the 30-50 ft. range. Spoons can be effective for both Bass and Crappie this time of year try using jigging spoon/kastmasters and flutter spoons for those large elusive bass. Alabama rigs in deeper water have been catching decent numbers but due to cold condition fishing is very slow. Do not fish too fast!
