With Salmon season a thing of the past, most anglers have turned their attention towards the Sturgeon and Stripers. The bite has been so so on the diamondbacks with the fluctuation in water temps. Some have found success on ghost shrimp and cut eel in the cooler water temps. Stripers have been up as well on anchovies and minnows sprayed with garlic scent. Largemouth have been found in the mats with punch rigs and senkos. Find the vegetation and youll find the bass, who are relating to the warmth from the emergent vegetation.

The largemouth have been hard to find, while most anglers are finding fish on their electronics, they seem to be slightly deeper then normal for this time of the year, drop shots, darter heads, split shot rigs and Skirted jigs working well. When the sun gets up and the water warms, Alabama Rigs, Glides, and spinnerbaits working well. Trout trollers finding success trolling shad patterned spoons and higher then average speeds due to the 55 degree water temps.

While still not quite the level of nearby Eastman, Hensley lake bass bite has improved. Most anglers are targeting submerged humps and secondary transition areas. Jigs, swimbaits senkos and Traps getting the most attention in the stained waters of this army corp lake. While there isint the numbers of big fish that Eastman has, it is a great option to avoid the masses at Eastman and still pull on a few fish.

Lake is at 6%. Catfishing is starting to pick up at night on live and frozen shad. Bass are holding around the rock piles and large bait schools in the deeper portions of the lake.

Regulations in the Kings river above and below Pine Flat Dam set the season as running from the last Saturday in April to November 15. From Pine Flat Dam downstream to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Bridge on Pine Flat Road with a 5 fish limit. The bridge is the first one to the west of the dam. Fishing has been excellent for anglers using dough bait and kastmasters for trout. Most fly anglers finding some success nymphing.

Lake at 83% capacity and dropping.� The bass fishing is okay using a variety of techniques, with Texas rig and darter head being the most popular. Jigs have been good like D & L, in purple and brown colors. almost any Finesse technique will catch them. Crappie are slowing down but catfish are showing up after dark. Shad, sardines, and anchovies for the catfish. There was a recent trout plant for the first time in a few years.

Most forebay anglers have been heading to the ducts recently with the pick up in activity lately. Zoom Mag Flukes, Lucky Craft Pointers and Spro McSticks getting some good attention. Catfish doing well on cut baits and stink bait.

Lake is at 76%.�Small spots are the rule with an�occassional�fish in the 3lb range. jigs ripbaits and plastics on dropshot or darterhead in 0-25ft as well as Spider Jigs are working well. Catfish can be had on stinkbaits and anchovies on the Fresno side and up river. A few good size crappie are showing up around structure on Mini Jigs under a float. No reports on stripers recently with San Luis doing so well.
