Fishing has been excelent!�Brassies and Midges in size 20 and 22�have been producing well along with egg patterns. Stripping Wooly buggers�is popular as is�fishing�BWO imitations on overcast days. Match the hatch at this prolific bug�producer both on the surface and below.���Bait fishing with inflated �worms and powerbait is always an option. If spinners and lures are your thing then by all means give'em a whirl. Kastmasters, Panther Martin, Mepps, and even Rooster Tails will produce fish. Baum is fishing great!!

Trout fishing has picked up. Troll minnow baits and standard trout fare below downriggers or lead core for the best success. Shore anglers are picking up limits on worms and powerbait . Good bass fishing can be had using swimbaits, tubes, senkos and other plastics. With the warmer weather you can expect the bass fishing to get really good over the next few weeks.

Bass fishing has been good and as winter weather rolls in expect exceptional smallmouth fishing. Throw Senkos, shakyhead worms and Crank baits. Trout fishing has been good trolling deep. This is the time of year to catch huge brown trout.

Trolling has been a very effective way to coax a trout or salmon. Wedding rings, humdingers, speed shiners and other types have trolling lures have been effective!!�

Look for trout holding in current. Many fish are being taken swinging wooly buggers or nightcrawlers in the current below the Trintiy Dam outflow.� The current break along the bluffs across from "Outhouse Cove" 10mph marker is a good area to target..Trolling spoons, spinners, Rapala minnows and�a nightcrawler can be effective as well.� There are numerous hatches that come off with BWO, Callibaetis, midges and other mayflies popular. Midges under an indicator is a very popular method as is stripping wooly buggers and leech patterns.This is a great pontoon boat or float tube lake. Boaters should remember that there is a 10 MHP limit throughout the lake.

Fish are being caught throughout the lake.� Anglers are finding success fishing to their personal strengths. Jig fishermen are catching bass jigging. Drop Shotters are catching bass on the drop shot. Fish to your comfort level. Some of the other more popular baits include another local handpour,�Rainbow Worm paddle tails ( especailly in Shasta Trout pattern) thrown on A-rigs�or on a swimbait head.�Lots of small fish to sort through.Some big bass are coming on swimbaits for those in the know. Fish flats, long points during the day. Some bass are coming off rock banks. The jig and Senko bite has been great!! Chuck and wind that crankbait as well. Top water fishing is really starting to pick up. All methods of trolling continue to produce, Shasta Tackle: Wiggle Hoochies, Cripplures and Humdingers along with Sling Blade Flashers are great combinations. Kastmasters, Needlefish and Rapalas are also good trolling offerings.�And of course few things beat a crawler/ flasher combo for many. Trout stocking at Jones Valley has been very heavy and people are catching limits on all types of things. wooly buggers under a bobber has been the number #1 technique.

"Neil's Trinity Special" from Rainbow Worms is a proven color pattern�only avaiible at the Sportman's Warehouse Redding location.Trout trolling been good especially in the areas with fresh water coming into the lake like the East Fork, North end, Swift Creek and Stuart's Fork. Try jerk baits and curly tails for Smallmouth. Kokanee fishing has been on fire as well as the Salmon. Trolling hoochies, cut plugs, wedding rings, and dick nite spoons has proven to be effective.
