No need for the hut today, the snow is still tough to pull the sled through, about 5 inches with a crusty top. The bite was still great iced 18 my dad iced 10 nothing big today a lot of 17'' ers the biggest was 19'' several of those, good size for eating. Latest update: 12/28 ** NO CURRENT UPDATE** Weather Water Temp: 28-31 Temp: 40-43 Sky: Clear Flow: 51 Wind: None Clarity: Slightly Off Precip: None Runoff: No The combination of low flows and high angling pressure has made this a tough winter season for the Arkansas tail water in Pueblo. The dam is letting out 31 cubic feet per second (cfs), while the hatchery outflow is pumping out an additional 20 or so, which has the flow at 51 cfs. At this level it's tough finding good holding water that isn't already taken by another angler. Trout are taking small midges and small baetis patterns here-- flashback black beauties, zebra midges, bling midges, top secrets, and small PTs. The fishing is slow. Clear skies and 28-31 degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Slightly Off.

Got out off Pelican Point about 3:45 where we found anywhere from open water to 3" of ice. Spud bar was used to find our was out over 4 fow. That was about as far as we felt comfortable going. Micro jigs tipped with waxies and fatheads as well as those smeared with krill scent produced many stocker bows before we had to get off the ice in time for closing. 01.03.19 from: arfee Fished 30yards off the boat ramp 10-12fow lots of open water so did not venture too far out ice was 5-7" where i fished non-stop action on stockers started trying different colors and lures tipped with waxies mealworms and shrimp white and pink worked best the only thing I caught w chartruese was a crayfish off the bottom fished from 10am-12pm then headed to chatfield

Latest update: 1/7 Weather Water Temp: 24-27 Temp: 36-39 Sky: Clear Flow: 26 Wind: None Clarity: Crystal Clear Precip: None Runoff: No The Big Thompson is fishing decent if you stay as close to the dam as possible. The weather has been very cold here which has stunted any insects from hatching but on warmer days it's possible to see BWO's hatch and definitely midges. 5x fluorocarbon down to small chocolate WD-40s, RSIIs, foam back emergers, top secrets, or jujubee midge patterns will be the winning ticket. The fish are feeding mostly on midges during the midday hatch hours. Tiny tippets and small midge and mayfly patterns are hooking the most fish. The fishing is fair. Clear skies and 24-27 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.

Latest update: 1/7 *Silverthorn side* Weather Water Temp: 20-23 Temp: 36-39 Sky: Clear Flow: 160 Wind: None Clarity: Crystal Clear Precip: None Runoff: No The crowds are thick, as they tend to be, but the fishing makes it worth it. Red discos, black beauties, and cream colored miracle midges are all hooking trout right now. With the healthy flow it has the trout pretty spread out in the river so look for trout close to hugging the banks, in shallow riffles, deep shelves, and around submerged rocks/boulders. Mysis patterns are also working well but only when you're close to the dam. The fish are feeding mostly on midges during the midday hatch hours. Use three different midge patters. Try a black Zebra Midge (size 20-24) or a Money Midge (size 20-24). An egg makes a great point fly during the winter months. The fishing is good. Clear skies and 20-23 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.

The ice ranged in thickness from 6 inches down to 4 inches. Water clarity is good at 6 to 7 feet down. There are several nasty pressure ridges with open water that limit where a person can travel in this area of the lake. 01.05.19 from: Goosehunter82 Fished from 630am to noon. The bite was no very good today. The ice in the marina is covered on holed. The ice was 2-6 inches everywhere we were. Water clarity was good to about 6ft outside of the marina. Some people were way out on the lake but the ice was popping and moving. Only saw one group up to the north end.
