Ben Beckes of Ascend Security Group is a Defensive Handgun/Advanced Handgun Tactics Instructor from Utah teaching a Utah Concealed Firearm Permit class. Utah Non-Resident CFP is honored in 31 states. This permit qualifies for Montana and Arizona.
Ben will be teaching the class on Jan 19th from 9:30p.m.to 4:00p.m.Cost is $95 ($10 discount for active duty/retired military. State and Federal fees of $63.25 are NOT included and can be paid the day of the class. Fingerprinting will be done from 9:30p.m-10:00a.m. Seating is limited to 20 people. When there isn't ice on the river the fishing in the section below Pipe Organ bridge has been fair with small B.H. Pheasant tails, zebra midges, scuds and gun slingers during winter months.

Try fishing for the stocked trout with red glow jigs tipped with maggots, scuds or Ratsos. People have had some success with tip-ups baited with nightcrawlers.

Sounds like there is around 4 to 7 inches of ice from the south end of the lake to Confederate bay. Some perch are being caught around Hole-in-the-wall and Duck Creek Bay.

The causeway has 2" to 10" of ice. Fish for the rainbows with Ratsos and Rat Finkees tipped with maggots. For the perch try Hali jigs or Flutter Fish tipped with maggots or wax worms.

Ice is going to make fishing tough. There is ice free water between Hebgen and Quake lakes. Nymphing with small midge nymphs and stonefly nymphs has been working well lately.

About Sportsman's Warehouse Missoula

Open since 2013, Sportsman’s Warehouse in Missoula is a block away from the Clark Fork River, near where it meets the Blackfoot and Bitterroot Rivers. National Gunsmithing services are coming soon! If you like hunting, we’re here to get you all set up with everything you need.
