FISHING REPORT FOR THORNTON

    upper big thompson becomes fishable at moraine park. more and more areas are icing off and fishing is still pretty good for late winter .highs are predicted to be above freezing so even with the cold and snow possibly moving in areas may not refreeze. dry

    flows have been good for this time of year offer amble wading opportunity. reports are that nymphing under an indicator has been productive. target single fish rising with dry flies like a caddis or BWO for best sucess.

    Tailwater section of the blue river through Silverthorne fishes fairly consistently year round. Water temps are in the lower 40's so there are not a lot of variety in hatches. small midge larva, mysis shrimp are staples of trout in this section of river.
