The river is in winter fishing mode. When there isn't slush and chunks of ice floating down the river fish can be caught on a variety of nymphs. Good ones to try are Brown Rubberlegs, Copper Johns, San Juan Worms, Prince Nymphs, Shop Vacs and Perdigons.

Browns has 8+" of ice. For the trout try Jigging Spoons or small jig heads tipped with a piece of worm. Hanging a worm under a tip-up has been successful in the past.

Open since 2013, Sportsman’s Warehouse in Missoula is a block away from the Clark Fork River, near where it meets the Blackfoot and Bitterroot Rivers. National gunsmithing services are now available!
