    Open for Trout fishing only. Cutthroat can be found in deep pools spread throughout the river and are most numerous upstream of the town of Applegate. Only hatchery rainbows can be retained, all other trout must be released unharmed immediately.

    The estuary will be good all October, rains this week will move more Chinook into the lower river. Even with the rain, the river is still low and clear. Anglers do best in early morning or late evening when the sun is off the water.
