Open year round. The state has been busy stocking lakes this year and people catching nice trout out of the lake already. Trolling the lake with Rooster tails and other similar type spinners and Wedding rings tipped with a worm have always produced fish, still fishing from a boat or shore is another good way to catch fish. Berkley power bait, power eggs and or night crawlers with some mallows are good bait to use while still fishing or get the kids out their with a bobber and worm or some Pautzke eggs for a good time.
